That central image of you, hungry, waiting to sell a book at Frankfurt - is such a powerful one, Colleen - this is such a heartfelt piece of writing - thank you for sharing - 🌺

Oh Colleen brave one. At least some of this is no longer true for you:

"it's an unknown ocean

with or without goggles -

out of my depth, and

the furthest shore

nowhere in sight"

Sadly too much of it is still true. Except I've paid off my credit card and no longer have one.

Colleen... Your journey has been absolutely remarkable. I met you in person once... a really long time ago at the virgin CTIBF in 2004 before the birth of Modaji.

The frankness with which you share your journey has injected fresh energy into me - to persevere no matter what.

Thank you for sharing your challenges, which are also your successes.

Colleen- you are the most unassuming warrior I have ever met. You have waged a private war that you fight daily on behalf of so many, and nobody who meets you would ever guess it. I think that is the definition of a hero. I also know you will cringe at those words - which makes you even more wonderful.

I will look through your posts. I would be very interested to hear the story. How you actually run an indie publisher … I’ll be back with a question perhaps! 🤔

well you brought tears to my baby blue eyes. My god... I had no idea, well I had some idea but I cannot believe that the government doesn't see you as a worthy cause. Maybe like all famous artists your value will be recognized in the years after you are a memory and people will say..."wow, what a woman... what motivated her? look what she did... amazing. such sacrifice, such dedication. Have you read any of her own books? So good, so well written." If Prayer has any power, of which I am rather sceptical, I would pray that somehow you, like Ibsen, get the reward and have a period where you can just relax a little.
